Meet the Coaches
Kelly Clevenger – Gymnastics Director
I have been a gymnast since the age of 5. I have been teaching and coaching since the age of 16. I have a great passion for the sport, and I love to see the kids succeed. I make it a priority to get to know the kids I am coaching. Before I moved to Massachusetts, I ran two separate programs at 2 different YMCA’s in Wichita, Kansas. I was responsible for starting the gymnastics teams at those Y’s, and we won the League Championship our first year. I would like you to get to know my staff and their gymnastics backgrounds.
Kylee Bourassa
I was a gymnast on the Greenfield YMCA team for 13 years. I started as a Level 2 and competed through Level 8. My experience was a positive one where I had a lot of fun and met many new friends that I am still close with today. Coming back to coach is a great experience because I can interact with the girls and teach them new things that I experienced through my gymnastics career. I can also help them through the frustrating times. I have been coaching for 1 ½ years and am really enjoying myself.
Katelyn Curtis
I have been coaching for about 2 ½ years. I was on the YMCA Gymnastics team for five years, starting as a Level 4 and ending at Level 8. I love teaching gymnastics and working with the kids. It feels like a great accomplishment for me when a gymnast gets a new skill.
Elise Dabritz
I grew up in the gym. I was a competitive gymnast up through Level 9. I taught at the gym with my mom for 5 years, teaching classes and team. I currently go to UMASS for Elementary Education. I missed the gym so much that I applied here last year. I have lots of fun coaching here. My favorite thing is seeing gymnasts get new skills and being proud of themselves for getting them. I someday hope to teach Second or Third grade.
Kara Younger
I was a gymnast for 14 years. I competed for 2 gyms from Level 4-9. I had great experiences during my years as a gymnast. I learned a lot about self-discipline through competition. I made a lot of friends that I still see and talk to. Coming back as a coach has been really exciting for me. I now have a 6 year old daughter who is a Level 2 on the team now.
